AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2005 FORD MEDTEC AMBULANCE VEHICLE FOR THE SEBRING FIRE DEPARTMENT FROM THE SEBRING FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATION, INC.; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Village of Sebring needs to acquire and obtain the use of an ambulance motor vehicle; and

WHEREAS, the Sebring Fire Department Association, Inc. has the ability to acquire and has acquired a 2005 Ford MedTec Ambulance; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Sebring hereby desires to purchase from the Sebring Fire Department Association, Inc. a 2005 Ford MedTec Ambulance motor vehicle for the sum of $55,000.00 under the terms and conditions set forth herein.

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF SEBRING, MAHONING COUNTY, OHIO, AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1.        That the Village of Sebring is hereby authorized and directed to purchase a 2005 Ford MedTec Ambulance motor vehicle for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Sebring.  The ambulance will be purchased by the use of the Sebring Fire Department Association, Inc. funds.  The Village will repay the Sebring Fire Department Association, Inc. in accordance with a duly executed Promissory Note solely from monies generated from the fire levy.  The total principal amount of the Promissory Note shall be $55,000.00 and will be due and payable within twenty-four (24) months from date of execution.

Section 2.        That it is FOUND and DETERMINED that all formal actions of this Council relating to the passage of this Ordinance or adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees which resulted in such formal actions were made in compliance with all legal requirements, including those of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code, all pursuant to Section 3.11 of the Charter of the Village of Sebring.

Section 3.        That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be an EMERGENCY MEASURE, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Village of Sebring, Ohio and for the further reason that it is necessary to provide ambulance services to the residents of the Municipality of Sebring.
