AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE MAHONING COUNTY LOCAL GOVERNMENT MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT;       AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Village of Sebring has been offered the opportunity to participate with Mahoning County and various cities, villages and townships with a Mutual Assistance Agreement for police protection; and

WHEREAS, this Agreement shall be in the form of a supplemental agreement to provide additional police protection services between and among local law enforcement agencies and Mahoning County; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Sebring deems it to be in the best interest to join with other municipalities, townships and Mahoning County in providing for supplemental police protection.

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF SEBRING, MAHONING COUNTY, OHIO, AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1.         That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Agreement for Mahoning County local government Mutual Aid Agreement for law enforcement in a form which is substantially similar to that which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A".

Section 2.         That it is FOUND and DETERMINED that all formal actions of this Council relating to the passage of this Ordinance or adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees which resulted in such formal actions were made in compliance with all legal requirements, including those of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code, all pursuant to Section 3.11 of the Charter of the Village of Sebring.

Section 3.         That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be an EMERGENCY MEASURE, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Village of Sebring, Ohio and for the further reason that it is in the best interest of all citizens to provide for organized broad police protection.
