AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 135.02 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SEBRING, MAHONING COUNTY ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF EMS CAPTAIN WITHIN THE SEBRING FIRE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS  the Executive Board of the Sebring Fire Department has met and reviewed the personnel requirements of the Sebring Fire Department and determined there to be a need for a designated EMS Captain due to the large volume of EMS calls the department handles each year; and

WHEREAS the Executive Board has recommended to the Village Council and Manager the creation of the position of EMS Captain to more efficiently administer EMS calls.

WHEREAS the Municipality has determined that the modifications set forth in this Ordinance will support and enhance the provision of municipal services by municipal employees.

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE VILLAGE OF SEBRING, MAHONING COUNTY, OHIO, AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1.        That Section 135.02 of the Sebring Codified Ordinances is hereby amended to provide as follows:

135.02 COMPOSITION OF DIVISION.
The Division of Fire shall consist of the following listed personnel.  All personnel of the Division of Fire shall not later than one year after their appointment, maintain their residence within a six mile linear radius of their primary work station (i.e. Fire Station #1 or Fire Station #2).

            (a)  One Fire Chief
            (b)  One Assistant Fire Chief
            (c)  Two Captains
            (d)  One EMS Captain
            (e)  Two Lieutenants
            (f)  Twenty Three Fire Fighters
 
Section 2.        That all prior inconsistent provisions of Sebring Codified Ordinances Section 135.02 are hereby repealed.

Section 3.        That it is FOUND and DETERMINED that all formal actions of this       Council relating to the passage of this Ordinance or adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees which resulted in such formal actions were made in compliance with all legal requirements, including those of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code, all pursuant to Section 3.11 of the Charter of the Village of Sebring.
