A RESOLUTION HONORING COLTON LOCKNER WHEREAS, Colton Lockner, a fourth grade student at B. L. Miller Elementary School, learned of the opportunity to host a Freedom Walk to honor the brave men and women, such as Staff Sergeant Brian Joseph, who volunteer to serve in the United States Military; and WHEREAS , Colton Lockner, demonstrating personal initiative and positive attitude, met with local, state and Pentagon officials in coordinating the Sebring America Supports You Freedom Walk and gathering over one thousand five hundred volunteers to participate; and WHEREAS, Colton Lockner has provided the Village of Sebring with a platform to express its gratitude for the service of the men and women of the United States Military that protect this nation and safeguard our freedom throughout the world. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SEBRING, MAHONING COUNTY, OHIO: SECTION 1: That Colton Lockner is hereby publicly honored for organizing the September 11, 2006 SECTION 2: That Sebring hereby recognizes the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001, renews our commitment to freedom and expresses our appreciation for the men and women who volunteer to serve in the military. Section 3: That this Resolution has been introduced by the unanimous consent of all Councilmembers, Mayor and the Administration of the Municipality of Sebring with the acknowledgement of an extraordinary achievement by an extraordinary boy. THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED THIS 12th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2006
